Barcelona ace Lionel Messi was named among the substitutes due to his hamstring problem, against Sevilla. But 57 minutes later Ernesto Valverde called on his star player. In the first half Barcelona's attack looked lost. Suarez was all over the place no real player as the center forward, Coutinho losing the ball many times same goes to Dembélé who showed great footwork, but fancy footwork don't win games. As soon as Messi came on for Dembélé, Barça's toothless attack now became a threat. In defense, Jordi Alba's attacking minded play often left Barcelona exposed at left back, both Umtiti and Pique were equally shocking. Sergi Roberto wasn't great either Ter Stegen could have done better with both goals. Sevilla dominated the midfield thanks to a superb performance from N'zonzi and Ever Banega. Sergio Busquets was clearly missed, Rakitic is no Busquets, Busquets is no Rakitic, they complement each other so well and you could see Rakitic missed his partner go much, Andre Gomes could have been a better option to Paulinho.
You have to also give thumbs up to Valverde for his substitutions all made impact except maybe Alcácer.
Luis Suarez pulled back one on the 88th minute and shortly after Lionel Messi fired from outside the box to make it 2-2 and spare Barcelona's blushes.
