Barca Squad To Face Las Palmas

FC Barcelona will play Las Palmas at the Canary Island on Thursday, the 1st of March at 8:45pm CET. This is the squad that will participate in the game Ter Stegen, Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio, A.Iniesta, Suárez, Messi, O.Dembélé, Cillessen, Coutinho, Paulinho, Paco Alcácer, Digne, S. Roberto, André Gomes, Aleix Vidal, Umtiti & Vermaelen. Again, Denis Suárez and Yerry Mina are left out of the matchday squad.

Semedo Out For Up To Five Weeks

FC Barcelona right-back Nelson Semedo will be sidelined for about five weeks with a hamstring injury in his left leg picked up in the closing stages against Girona. The summer signing was forced off in the 85th minute after an impressive display in defence. Semedo has played 24 games so far this season, 14 in the league. With congested calendar, he will miss as many as eight games, including two huge ties with Atletico Madrid next Sunday in LaLiga and against Chelsea at the Camp Nou in the Champions League 10 days later. However Aleix Vidal and Sergi Roberto are available to fill in for the Portuguese.

Barca Squad To Face Girona

FC Barcelona will host in form Girona at the Camp Nou on Saturday. The last home league game ended in a 0-0 draw with Getafe. Valverde's men will be looking forward to returning to winning ways. Sergi Roberto Renews until 2022

FC Barcelona Midfielder turned right-back Sergi Roberto officially signed a contract extension until 2022 today. "Since I started talking about the renewal, I wanted to be here. It's my club," he said at a press conference at Camp Nou. "It's true that other teams were interested, but I wanted to be here and I'm happy to have renewed until 2022. And, if I can go on for longer, even better." Club President Bartomeu praised the loyalty shown by Roberto, who joined Barcelona's academy at the age of 14. "Sergi's an example for many players. We are grateful for his patience, his perseverance," he said. "He's had and will have a lot of offers, but we're thankful that he's decided to stay here." He famously scored the winning goal in the 6-1 victory over PSG in last year's Champions League Round of 16.

Cakir to referee Chelsea vs Barcelona

Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir (41 years old) will officiate the Champions League round of 16 clash between Chelsea and FC Barcelona in London. Cuneyt Cakir previously officiated the Champions League clash during the 2011/12 campaign at the Camp Nou between Barcelona and Chelsea which ended in a 2-2 draw with Chelsea, where he sent off John Terry. The result meant the Catalans were eliminated because of a first leg loss. Since then he has officiated Barcelona 5 times, with the Catalans drawing once and winning all the remaining 4 including a 3-1 win over Juventus in the 2015 Champions League final.

Barca Squad To Face Eibar

Ernesto Valverde has named his 18 player list to face Eibar which includes Ter Stegen, Cillessen, Semedo, Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Iniesta, Suarez, Messi, Dembele, Coutinho, Paulinho, jordi Alba, Digne, Sergi Roberto, Aleix Vidal, Umtiti, Yerry Mina Pique is included after missing the draw against Getafe with a Knee problem. Ousmane Dembele is also included after shackling his stomach problem. Thomas Vermaelen is left out after he hasn't been declared fit by the medical team. Andre Gomes, Denis Suarez and Paco Alcacer were all left out.

Competition Committee opens a confidential investigation into Pique

After receiving LaLiga's report on Gerard Pique's gesture towards Espanyol fans, the Spanish FA Competition Committee has decided to open an investigation against the Barcelona centre back. Shortly after his equaliser in the Catalan derby, the 31-year-old raised his finger to his lips to silence the home crowd , following their offensive chants towards his family. As reported by Cadena Cope, the committee will hear explanations from all parties involved, to decide whether they will proceed with sanctioning the player or not.

FIFA Back Barcelona in Neymar Dispute

Photo by; Miguel Ruiz Barcelona's strained relationship with Neymar began after an argument over a 40 million euro bonus that was agreed when the Brazilian signed a new deal before moving to Paris Saint-Germain. With the move to the French club coming less than a year after the renewal, Barcelona are not prepared to pay the bonus and Neymar's representatives have taken the case to court and to FIFA, with the latter believed to have rejected it. The case will continue to rumble on though with Barcelona also counter- claiming 75 million euros from Neymar for his failure to see through his contract.

Boca Juniors to feature in Juan Gamper Trophy

The news was announced by Boca's president Daniel Angelici on Monday. "We will travel to face Barcelona in August," he revealed. Boca Juniors previously played in the 2008 edition of the Juan Gamper Trophy

Estadio Wanda Metropolitano Is Copa Final Venue

The Copa Del Rey final between FC Barcelona and Sevilla on the 21st of April will be played at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano after the Catalan club refused the idea of playing Sevilla's home and Real Madrid decided not to offer the Estadio Santiago Bernabeau for the final. The Estadio Wanda Metropolitano will host the 2019 Champions League final.

Dembele Misses Training

Barcelona Forward Ousmane Dembele missed training on Monday with a gastric problem, according to a statement from the club. He is expected to be back in training on Thursday.

The Failed Barcelona Stint of Arda Turan

By Chizalam Emuchay In the summer of 2015 Barcelona agreed to pay €40m (including add ons) to Atletico Madrid for Turkish captain Arda Turan after then head coach Luis Enrique demanded him. The club had it's Presidential election that summer and he was signed shortly before the elections. Laporta, one of the candidates (he eventually came second) said if he won the election that his first move would be to veto Arda's transfer. His reasons were the transfer fee, his age and suitability to the Barça style. In the end Bartomeu was reelected and Arda Turan's transfer went through, I'm a big fan of Arda Turan so of course I was really excited he signed for Barça. Bayern Eye Cillessen

28 year old Dutch International Jasper Cillessen who was superb against Valencia in the Copa Semi finals for Barcelona has reportedly attracted the interest of Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich according to Mundo Deportivo. Bayern's current number 1, Manuel Neuer has missed most of the season due to injury and the Bavarians see the Dutch man as a perfect backup. He has a release clause of €60m.

Dembele In Squad Vs Getafe

Ousmane Dembele has been named in the matchday squad to face Getafe on Sunday. Meanwhile, Gerard Pique is in the squad despite missing the past two days' training, and he could partner Yerry Mina in defence on the Colombian's full debut given that Thomas Vermaelen is out and Samuel Umtiti unavailable through suspension.
