At first he was backup in the league to Chile captain Claudio Bravo while he played in the Copa and Champions League. During his first season he won the treble and was very vital in the teams Champions League run, he was superb against Manchester City in the Round of 16, saving an Aguero penalty. He was absolutely wonderful against Bayern Munich (both legs) in the semis, during the second leg he produced the Champions League's save of the season. He also started in the 3-1 win over Juventus in the Champions League final. In the Spanish Super Cup the following season, he was criticized for his performance in the first leg against Athletic Bilbao where he conceded 4 goals mostly from errors at the San Mames. He is widely expected to leave this summer. Douglas Pereira The 26 year old right back joined from Sao Paulo for €4m plus add ons in 2014. Arda Turan Personally, one of my favourite players,The Turk joined Barcelona in the summer of 2015 for €41m as replacement for the departing Pedro but he had to wait till January 2016 to debut due to the FIFA transfer ban. WHAT ERNESTO NEEDS TO DO

by Chizalam Emuchay @chizalamE These are the greatest challenges awaiting the Barca Boss 1. Develop a system: You will agree with me that during Enrique's last season at the club, they really lacked a system, the new coach has to develop a working system that will suit and bring out the best out of his current players 2. Transfer the right players: He needs to buy where necessary and sell the fringes for only the right price. 3. Make Iniesta commit: Even though he won't be playing as much games as before, the club needs its captain to stay and mentor the next generation of players. 4. Trust the youth: This shouldn't be much of a problem for him as he did this in Athletic Bilbao helping develop players such as Iniaki Williams, Laporte etc. He should permanently promote Alena, Marlon and convince Rafinha to stay put. 5. Bring back excitement and buzz: Barcelona has been lacking this recently and he must bring back excitement to the Camp Nou. 6. Rotate Well: ...

3. Andre Gomes: The Portuguese midfielder arrived Barcelona from Valencia for €35m plus a lot of add ons. His first season at the club hasn't gone according to plan, he made 44 appearances (mostly substitute) scored 3 times and chipped in one assist. Due to his below par performances he even got booed by the fans at Camp Nou (the only Barca player this season to be booed at home). Two of his goals came in the 7-1 victory over lowly Osasuna at home. As the season went on he gradually began to improve and we could see a better him next season. 2. Lucas Digne: He was signed from PSG after spending last season on loan at AS Roma, he made just 22 average appearances scored once and made zero assists. 1. Jeremy Mathieu: Made just 15 appearances scoring once, the 33 year old centre half played 1120 minutes of football producing rubbish displays notably against Juventus at the Juventus Arena. He is widely expected to depart this summer.

5. Ivan  Rakitic : The 29 year old Croatian midfielder is in fact one of the most underrated players at the club, he is very hardworking on the right side of the central midfield, he had a wonderful season playing 48 games scoring 9 times including one at the Bernabeu in the 3-2 victory over Real Madrid and set up another 5. 4. Luis Suarez : The Uruguayan striker had another wonderful season scoring 41 goals in 52 appearances and providing 15 assists, but he somehow lacked consistency, his recent performances against Malaga, Juventus both legs, Real Madrid were somewhat below par. 3. Samuel Umtiti He joined from Lyon last summer after his superb performances for France in EURO 2016 and since he hasn't looked back, he's been solid at the back in his 40 games this season and has a 93.1% passing accuracy. 2. Neymar Jr : In terms of goals he just has 20 from 46 games while setting up 18, but his performance this season have been world class especially in the 6-1 victo...
