The Portuguese midfielder arrived Barcelona from Valencia for €35m plus a lot of add ons. His first season at the club hasn't gone according to plan, he made 44 appearances (mostly substitute) scored 3 times and chipped in one assist. Due to his below par performances he even got booed by the fans at Camp Nou (the only Barca player this season to be booed at home). He was signed from PSG after spending last season on loan at AS Roma, he made just 22 average appearances scored once and made zero assists.

Made just 15 appearances scoring once, the 33 year old centre half played 1120 minutes of football producing rubbish displays notably against Juventus at the Juventus Arena. He is widely expected to depart this summer.
